An Education director Lone Scherfig returns with this spirited World War 2 drama, based on Lissa Evans' novel Their Finest Hour and a Half.

Set in 1940 London, Gemma Arteton gives a brilliant performance as Cartin, a young aspiring copywriter who moves to the city with her artist husband (Jack Huston). Initially hired by the Ministry of Information’s Film Division to bring a ‘woman’s touch’ to their propaganda short films, Catrin soon finds herself partnered with moody screenwriter Buckley (Sam Claflin) and pompous actor Ambrose Hilliard (Bill Nighy), to make a film based on the Battle of Dunkirk. Soon finding their feet, the unlikely trio set out to make a film that will warm the hearts of a nation in the midst of the blitz.
With a fine ensemble cast including Richard E Grant, Henry Goodman, Jeremy Irons and Helen McCory, this is a moving portrayal of a woman forging her way in the world in the midst of chaos.
