Framed Film Club Extra - Anthony Horowitz Presents: Babe (U)

10am workshop/ 11am film

25 March 2017
Cinema 2
Anthony Horowitz, creator of the bestselling spy series Alex Rider, selects this month’s family favourites, full of talking toys, fantastic foxes and plenty of puppets.

Amazing special effects will have you believing animals can talk in this wonderful production from Australia. Nominated for a Best Picture Oscar and starring a whole farm full of animals, this is an inspiring journey for all generations to enjoy.

Babe the piglet is taken from his mother to be a prize in a country fair, but luckily for him he is won by the eccentric Farmer Hoggit (played to Oscar nominated perfection by James Cromwell). The adorable little porker is taken to Hoggit’s farm and soon manages to make friends with all sorts of animals including the sheep and the sheep dogs. And so begins little Babe’s obsession: he is desperate to learn how to be a sheep dog – or, more accurately, a sheep pig. But will he be able to win over his friends and his farmer?

Chock full of feel-good factor, this adaptation of award winning children’s novel The Sheep-Pig by Dick King-Smith is an absolute must-see.
