Architecture on Film: One Way Boogie Woogie/27 Years Later (PG*)

A masterwork of avant-garde filmmaking, James Benning's 1977 film One Way Boogie Woogie surveys the industrial landscape of Milwaukee through sixty, static, one-minute vignettes.

27 years later Benning revisited the film, charting the passage of time upon the urban environment and his protagonists. By capturing the same shots for a second time, Benning explores how the landscape has been affected by progress and decay.
