There’s a massive buzz about Whiplash, which picked up multiple awards at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

Surprising, intoxicating and euphoric, it will undoubtedly be the greatest jazz drumming movie you see all year. A study of the cost of excellence, it charts the story of Andrew Neyman (Miles Teller), a promising drummer at a prestigious music college, determined to make it to the top.

Director Damien Chazelle makes the frenzied drumming scenes immediate and impossibly cool, and JK Simmons gives a perfect supporting performance as Andrew's formidable teacher.
