This powerful and absorbing story of the Second World War puts children at the centre of the drama and doesn’t flinch from exploring the terror that the conflict caused.

Set in the Ukraine in 1941, two local Jewish children and a young German girl are brought together by their shared love of music. But when the Nazis invade and the world around them changes, the trio is pulled apart and their friendship tested to its very limits.
