31 March 2017 - 1 April 2017 / 16:00, 10:00
The Broadway

Enjoy free music, dance and theatre as Ballet Black joins local talent at the Broadway in Barking for a new two day family-friendly event curated and led by the Barbican Centre.

On Friday evening you can see performances from local students at Barking and Dagenham College, Dagenham Park Church of England School and the Sydney Russell School. The evening will close with a performance by The Satellite Collective, a band made up of students from the Warren School and Eastbury School.

Throughout the day theatre company Uninvited Guests will be working with audiences and performers to collect messages, sounds and images for their new time capsule piece, To Those Born Later, for the people of 2167.

Saturday will be a day of family activities, music and dance with Ballet Black performing two pieces from their recent Barbican Triple Bill; Captured by Martin Lawrance and House of Dreams by Michael Corder.

Free day tickets for Friday and Saturday can be booked in advance from the Broadway box office

Please note that activities are on a first-come-first-served basis and have a limited capacity so a ticket cannot guarantee participation in everything

All activities and performances are free to join and ticket holders will enjoy a free hot drink and special food offers on both days

Keep checking back as more detail will be announced
