Architecture on Stage: Atelier Bow Wow
22 May 2017
Frobisher Auditorium 1
Soon after Japan had suffered the
collapse of its economic bubble in the 1990’s, Yoshiharu Tsukamoto and Momoyo
Kaijima founded Atelier Bow Wow and went on to realise a series of
distinguished house designs - including Mini House (1998), their own House
and Atelier (2005) and Split Machiya (2010) - in parallel with the
production of publications that carefully documented Tokyo’s suburban
landscape. Tsukamoto will build upon his influential position as both
observer and designer.
The Architecture Foundation, in association with the Barbican and The Japan Foundation London, presents Architecture on Stage – a programme of talks and debates.
