Soon after Japan had suffered the collapse of its economic bubble in the 1990’s, Yoshiharu Tsukamoto and Momoyo Kaijima founded Atelier Bow Wow and went on to realise a series of distinguished house designs - including Mini House (1998), their own House and Atelier (2005) and Split Machiya (2010)  - in parallel with the production of publications that carefully documented Tokyo’s suburban landscape. Tsukamoto will build upon his influential position as both observer and designer.
