Renowned architect Kazuyo Sejima will revisit domestic projects that have sought to negotiate a relationship between the individual and Japan's advanced information society. She will explore the principles behind key houses such as House in Plum Grove (2003) which features in current Art Gallery exhibition The Japanese House: Architecture and Life after 1945.

Kazuyo Sejima established Kazuyo Sejima & Associates in 1987 and SANAA with Ryue Nishizawa in 1995. She has received numerous awards for both her independent work and collaborations with Nishizawa, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2004) and the Pritzker Architecture Prize (2010). In 2010, Sejima became the first woman to take on the directorship of the Venice Architecture Biennale.
