Sustainability
The Barbican is committed to reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainability in all areas of our work.

As one of the world's leading arts and conference centres, we recognise that our day-to-day operations impact on the environment, local community and economy and we strive to integrate sound environmental and sustainable practices in everything we do.

Major initiatives

  • Sending zero waste to landfill
  • Compositing 100% off all food waste
  • Offering clients the option to introduce a food mile menu, sourcing all food from within 250miles of the venue
