G'day! We're Urban Baristas, an Aussie-inspired café bringing great coffee and good food, just across from the Centre on Beech Street. Pop in before your film, grab a flat white and take a moment.

Start the day right and kick off your morning with expertly brewed Urban Baristas coffee and a tempting selection of freshly baked pastries, served alongside all your favourite breakfast drinks.

Feeling hungry? Our Aussie-inspired daytime food menu is packed with freshly made wraps and bagels, filled with vibrant ingredients and bold flavours. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch, meeting friends, or fuelling up before a film, there's something satisfying waiting for you. 

A space to breathe. Whether you're here for a film, a catch-up, or a quiet hour to yourself, pull up a seat and make yourself at home. From 10 am–5 pm, we're happy for you to plug in and get things done. Just take a look at our Laptop & Workspace guidelines to keep things comfortable for everyone.

As the evening rolls in the café transforms as showtime approaches. Choose from our selection of wine and beer, or load up on fresh popcorn and nachos with dips to take in with your film. Simple pleasures, done well.

We're open all day. Whether you need a coffee, good company, or just a moment to yourself, you're always welcome.

Laptop & workspace guidelines

We love that this space brings people together – for a coffee, a chat, or a few focused hours of work.

Between 8am–5pm, feel free to plug in and get things done for up to 2 hours. To keep things comfortable for everyone:

  • Please only consume items purchased here.
  • After 2 hours, or if the café is busy, a team member may ask you to free up your seat so others can enjoy the space.
  • Thanks for your understanding – your support helps us keep the café welcoming for all.

Looking for a quieter or longer working slot? You might also consider Barbican Library or our Foyer cafés & bars on Level G and -1 in our Main Centre.

From 5 pm–9 pm, the space becomes part of our cinema foyer. It’s a time to switch off, not log on – please bear in mind that working with laptops may not be welcomed during this period.

Barbican Cinema 2 & 3 are located on Beech Street, a short walk from the Barbican’s Silk Street entrance. From Silk Street, you’ll see a zebra crossing that will take you across the road to the venue.
