Penguin Cafe + London Ambient Orchestra

A painting of a mans body with a penguin's head sitting naked on a chair in the middle of a grassy field having a conversation with a penguin under a pink and white umbrella

The avant-pop band, Penguin Cafe collaborates with London Ambient Orchestra, an improvisational ensemble, to bring fresh perspectives to a body of work renowned for its invention and timeless appeal.

Under the musical direction of Arthur Jeffes, Penguin Cafe joins forces with the London Ambient Orchestra for a newly commissioned collaboration celebrating the legacy of the original Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Reimagining music that has captivated audiences for more than 50 years, the programme features iconic works including Music from a Found Harmonium and Perpetuum Mobile, presented in newly expanded orchestral arrangements.

Penguin Cafe was founded by Arthur Jeffes in 2009, bringing together a talented group of musicians to perform his father’s legacy of world-renowned Penguin Cafe Orchestra music.

The London Ambient Orchestra are an improvisational orchestra challenging the conventions of classical music.
