An animated girl

Two kids and a magical cat embark on a journey of self-discovery, in this coming-of-age fantasy masterpiece from legendary Studio Ghibli.

Shizuku is a young girl who loves to write yet has her head in the clouds. After a chance encounter with a mysterious cat, Shizuku sets off on a quest to discover her true talent.

Along the way, she meets Seiji, a boy determined to become a master violin maker, and encounters the enigmatic Baron, an antique cat figurine. As The Baron inspires her to listen to the whispers of her heart, Shizuku embraces a life-changing adventure that takes her beyond the boundaries of her imagination.

Exploring the power of stories and creativity, and the need for us all to find our own purpose, Whisper of the Heart is a cherished gem in the Studio Ghibli catalogue. Based on a story and screenplay by Hayao Miyazaki, the film is the directorial debut of veteran animator Yoshifumi Kondō.
