Surviving Earth (15)

A man stands smiling as he looks at a group of lit candles. A woman stands nearby, looking at him.

In Thea Gajić's powerful debut based on a true story, a Yugoslav refugee and gifted musician rebuilds his life in Bristol, balancing fatherhood with the shadows of his past that refuse to fade.

When Vlad (Slavko Sobin) forms a band to reconnect with his roots, music becomes his lifeline – a fragile bridge between who he was and who he wants to be. But as difficulties arise, old habits begin to resurface and Vlad risks losing it all. Can he find redemption through love and music, or will the past drag him down once more?

With Surviving Earth, Gajić announces her arrival as a bold and exciting new voice in contemporary British cinema.
