3670 (15*)

Queer East Festival 2026

A group of men crowd in front of the mirror in a dim, pink-lit room.

Led by a powerhouse performance from Cho You-hyun, 3670 follows a young North Korean defector as he summons the courage to explore Seoul's vibrant gay community.

Despite having two close friends among his fellow defectors, Cheol-jun (Cho) has always felt isolated, forced to hide his gay identity. Then he meets Yeong-jun (Kim Hyeon-mok), who introduces him to a group of gay friends who meet up regularly in the city's clubs and bars. The film’s title, 3670, is queer messaging code for a meetup: Jongno-3-ga metro station, Exit 6, 7pm – with those invited then amending the 0 to indicate the number of people who will attend.

A milestone in South Korean queer cinema, director Park Joon-ho's film casts aside stereotypes to authentically examine the conflicts, complexities and behavioural codes of Seoul's gay scene.

In Korean with English subtitles.
