Lady (15)

Parent & Baby Screening

A woman in front of a villa

Samuel Abrahams serves up this delightfully odd mockumentary: an eccentric aristocrat (Fleabag's Sian Clifford) ropes a struggling filmmaker into documenting her gloriously mundane life.

A young filmmaker (Laurence Kynaston) arrives at the estate of the eccentric Lady Isabella (Sian Clifford) to shoot a documentary about her seemingly ordinary life. But as her quest for artistic legacy grows increasingly unhinged, the project spirals into a wild supernatural territory.

Unexpectedly absurd, Lady feels like the B-side to an eat-the-rich satire, mixing laughs with surprising tenderness. Beneath its eccentricity, themes of loneliness, identity, and the longing to be seen lies at the film's core.

This is Abrahams' first feature after a number of award winning short films, and a successful back-catalogue as a commercial and doc director.
