Köln 75 (15)

Parent & Baby Screening

A teenage girl hurries down an empty city street, cars sparsely lining the road on either side of her.

A feisty 16 year old, Ronnie Scott, jazz legend Keith Jarrett, and the infamous 1975 Köln Concert strike a chord, telling the background story of the best-selling solo jazz album of all time.

Vera Brandes (German newcomer Mala Emde) is a frustrated sixteen-year-old, desperate to leave home and living for nights out. A free spirit, she frequently ditches school, sneaks out to party and constantly clashes with her conservative parents. After concealing her age at an impromptu meeting with saxophonist Ronnie Scott (Daniel Betts, Mobland), she becomes his tour manager in Germany and quickly must learn the ropes.

Whilst immersed in the jazz world, she becomes obsessed with bringing renowned American pianist and composer Keith Jarrett (John Magaro, Past Lives) to perform in Cologne.

What transpires will lead to the creation of the best-selling solo jazz album of all time. Written and directed by Ido Fluk.

In German and English.
