The visionary bassist performs No More Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin in a powerful live set with her band. A genre-defying sonic exploration blending jazz, soul, funk and spoken word.

Meshell Ndegeocello performs her deeply atmospheric record, built around the words and legacy of acclaimed writer, James Baldwin. She weaves essays, novels and poetry into a prophetic musical odyssey that transcends boundaries and genres.

Anchored by her fluid basslines, the performance moves through moments of intimacy, intensity, and improvisation – drawing us into Baldwin’s meditations on race, sexuality, resistance, and belonging. It’s a profound dialogue between literature and music, celebrating Baldwin’s enduring impact nearly a century after his birth.

Ndegeocello is a groundbreaking bassist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Since the 1990s she’s built a fearless body of work, widely celebrated for its musical depth and political clarity.

ESKA, the Mercury-nominated British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, supports.
