Nino (15)

Members' Screening

Two smiling men hold each other as they move in the living room at a gathering.

In Pauline Loquès's feature-length directorial debut, Théodore Pellerin stars as Nino, a shy young man diagnosed with throat cancer on the eve of his 29th birthday.

Reeling from the diagnosis, Nino is told he must begin aggressive chemotherapy within days. Having also once again misplaced his apartment keys, he is thrown into a reflective wandering around Paris and forced to rely on goodwill from past loved ones: old friends, an ex-partner, and his mother.

A thoughtful, sensitive and gently humorous exploration of this moment of upheaval, Nino paints a moving portrait of a young man staring down mortality, considering a life of delayed decisions and casual commitments that have now become increasingly urgent.

Pellerin's delicate, compelling performance won him a Louis Roederer Foundation Rising Star Award at Cannes Film Festival 2025, where the film premiered as part of Critics' Week.
