Digger (15)

a man standing on the table

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alejandro G Iñárritu (Birdman) returns with his original feature starring Tom Cruise as the most powerful man in the world.

Oil baron Digger Rockwell embarks on a frantic mission to avert an environmental catastrophe of his own making. Little is known about the plot of the film beyond the fact that Tom Cruise leads an impressive cast in ‘a comedy of catastrophic proportions’.

The film marks a collaboration between one of contemporary cinema’s most daring filmmakers, González Iñárritu, and one of its biggest stars.

A four-time Oscar winner, González Iñárritu began developing Digger shortly after The Revenant. What started as an idea gradually evolved into a persistent creative obsession. For years, the character of Digger Rockwell remained at the centre of that idea, eventually taking shape as the foundation of the film.
