Opening Night: Who is Still Alive + ScreenTalk (15*)

London Palestine Film Festival

Shown from above, a group of nine people stand in squares marked out in white tape against a dark background. They are all positioned within another white tape outline of the Gaza strip.

Nine voices from Gaza. Nine people who tell of their lives before and amid the destruction, in the neighbourhoods whose outlines they draw in chalk on the ground.

Nicolas Wadimoff creates a stark space in which nine refugees retrace the places they once called home, sharing memories of the lives they left behind.

Through gestures and silences, their testimony foregrounds the individuality of people whose lives have been disrupted by displacement and loss. Their stories become an intimate act of remembrance, reconnecting them with who they were and who they remain.

This screening, a UK premiere, will be followed by a ScreenTalk with Nicolas Wadimoff and Jawdat Khoudary.

This screening is in partnership with Galilee Foundation.
