Join Barbican Young Poets for an evening of performances and readings inspired by Julia Phillips’s exhibition, Inside, Before They Speak.

For her first UK institutional solo exhibition, German and American multidisciplinary artist Julia Phillips explores her interest in the body, conception, and human connection. Merging the anatomical and the industrial through the use of sculpture and drawing, Phillips's new works allow space for multiple readings.

At this event, step inside the exhibition in the Curve to take in Phillips's work before hearing the poets' responses within the space.

Barbican Young Poets is a community and artist development initiative for people who want to explore what’s possible for their poetry and creative expression, fostering a collective of poets to become the next generation of powerful creative voices.

Running time: approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes

Age guidance: 16+ | under 16s should be accompanied by a parent or guardian

This event is free, but ticketed. If you have reserved a ticket and can no longer make the event, please let us know by contacting our box office team on [email protected] or 020 7870 2500
