Space Cadet (U*) + Origami Workshop

Family Film Club

A young girl and a robot sit across a table from eah other

One of the first UK screenings of this gorgeous new animation sees a girl and a robot discovering their universe, based on the graphic novel by Kid Koala. Plus, a pre-film origami workshop.

Robot and Celeste are inseparable. As they grow up Celeste decides to train to become a interstellar Space Cadet. But when Celeste travels off into the cosmos, leaving Robot behind, their connection changes and they must navigate new challenges and adventures independently.

Without dialogue, and similar in tone to the recent animation, Robot Dreams, this bitter-sweet tale of love, friendship and learning is a beautifully animated journey.

We are delighted to be joined by Toshiko Kurata, an Origami artist and teacher who will be l showing us how to make our very own robot origami. This workshop will take place in the Cinema Café from 9:45-11am.
