WOLF + ScreenTalk with director Christian Cargill and Patrick Wolf

Doc'n Roll Film Festival 2026

A black and white film image of a man wearing a polka dot shirt and a checked jacket looking seriously down the lens.

Tilda Swinton guides us through the life of British musician Patrick Wolf, weaving together archive and animation to illuminate a singular artistic journey.

Narrated with warmth and intimacy by long-time friend Tilda Swinton, Wolf traces the extraordinary journey of one of Britain’s most distinctive musical voices.

From the early promise of a fiercely original teenage talent and the dizzying heights of success to a painful unravelling and eventual return to music, the film offers a deeply personal portrait of an uncompromising artist.

Blending rich archival material with evocative animation, it brings Wolf’s interior world vividly to life, exploring creativity, vulnerability and resilience while making a compelling case for his enduring importance as a singular figure in British music.

We are delighted that this screening of Wolf will also be followed by a ScreenTalk with director Christian Cargill and, joining on Zoom, Patrick Wolf.
