Delcy Morelos in Conversation

with Curator Diego Chocano

Delcy Morelos applying mud with her bare hands to the walls of her installation.

Join artist Delcy Morelos and curator Diego Chocano for a conversation and Q&A about Morelos’ practice and her new Barbican commission, origo.

Colombian artist Delcy Morelos creates multisensory, immersive environments, inviting us to connect with soil, the material which sustains all life. For her Barbican commission, she has designed her most ambitious outdoor work to date, with a monumental circumference of 24 metres.

The organic materiality of Morelos’ installation, inspired by Andean and Amazonian architecture, sits in dialogue with the iconic concrete of the Barbican. The commission marks a return of artwork in our Sculpture Court for the first time in 10 years.

Please note: origo closes at 6pm on Fri 15 May. Please arrive ahead of time if you want to experience the installation before the talk.
