Join for a talk with Liebman Villavecchia Arquitectos on their practice of designing within existing structures.
Eileen Liebman and Fernando Villavecchia established Liebman Villavecchia Arquitectos in 1987 in Barcelona. The practice has maintained a strong focus on the design of private houses, often developed through the adaptation of existing structures.
Their talk will be followed by a conversation with Stephen Bates (Sergison Bates Architects), with whom they collaborated on the design of the Casa Voltes in Cadaqués.
Edited by Stephen Bates and Fernando Villavecchia, the book Lineage and Legacy: A Certain Modernism in Cadaqués was published in 2021.
The Architecture Foundation, in association with the Barbican, presents Architecture on Stage – a programme of talks by the world's leading architects.
