Louis VI Presents... NATURE AIN'T A LUXURY

an experience of listening

Due to popular demand, NATURE AIN’T A LUXURY returns to the Conservatory. There is a language that we are all innately fluent in, yet we’ve tuned out of… that language is the sounds of nature.

Travelling to three Indigenously stewarded locations, Sarayaku, (Amazon) Raja Ampat (West Papua) & Waitukubuli (aka Dominica), Musician & Zoologist Louis VI recorded hours of high-fidelity 360° immersive audio, capturing the shifting textures of these ecosystems at their most sonically active using microphones modelled on human hearing.

The time of visit will match the time of day you hear, offering a unique experience, transporting listeners via wireless headphones as they move through the Conservatory’s foliage. Biodiverse due to the places resisting the colonial need to extract from nature, the exhibition beckons us back to our fluency.

All slots must be booked in advance. The pay what you can slots are playback only and do not feature live music. The standard £15 performance slots on Saturday at 7pm and Sunday 3pm will feature live music from Louis VI and his band as well as playback.

All audio will be played back over headphones which will be provided. No entry without headphones.
