Peter and the Wolf
This Academy Award winning animation is based on the symphonic fairy tale for children by Prokofiev and accompanied by his music. It follows young Peter’s fortunes as he and his grandfather capture a wolf in the forests on the edge of Russia. This intricate stop motion seamlessly intertwines with Prokofiev’s beguiling score and creates a magical cinematic experience.

Angel's Trumpet
The director of this colourful short was inspired by the flower Angel’s Trumpet – one type of which can only be pollinated by a certain type of hummingbird – and combines this with shapes and sounds of the Tuba! A wonderfully vibrant animation that takes viewers on a unique musical journey.
Estonia 2019 Dir Martinus Klemet 2 min

The Dragon and the Music
A little girl befriends a dragon and the two play music together, but a stubborn king – who only likes military marches – won’t allow the pair to duet. A sweet and gentle tale that explores music’s ability to overcome boundaries.

6:1
Featuring the music of Dmitri Shostakovich, this lovely stop motion follows a cat and a girl on a train journey as they play chequers – the girl looks like she’s sure to win, until the cat gets a lucky break.

Piccolo Concerto
A young recorder must learn to play as part of an ensemble and gain inspiration from different styles of music. This jaunty little film imagines what instruments and music would look like using colourful visualisations and a lively soundtrack.

Sleeping Betty
The King and Queen are beside themselves as they cannot wake their daughter, so  calling on a (strangely familiar) prince for a true-love’s kiss seems their only option – but is this royal really the answer? A rare chance to see this humorous and surreal animation that features music from Dvorak, Mahler, Franck and Tchaikovsky.
