After #MeToo: Consent, Trauma and the Future

Misogyny and sexual violence as a method of control and punishment are common themes in classical mythology – and continue to proliferate in contemporary culture. The powerful global uprising known as #MeToo has challenged the normalization of rape culture and its codification into legal structures. On the back of millions of stories of harassment and abuse have come many difficult questions – with few simple answers. 

What does solidarity look like when race, class, sexuality, disability and gender identity inflect the ability to speak out? 

How can people, including those bearing individual pain and trauma, transform the energy unleashed by #MeToo into social change in workplaces, universities, homes and streets?
