The Barbican Young Reviewers is a twelve week course for anyone aged 14–25 who wants to learn how to craft a critical opinion and develop your videography skills and presence on camera through the mentorship of an arts journalist and a YouTuber.
Over twelve weeks you will see three shows at the Barbican and deliver a video review for each to be published on the Barbican’s YouTube channel. Every fortnight you will attend a mentoring session with either an arts journalist or YouTuber who will help you craft your portfolio of reviews.

Confidence in front of the camera, developing your voice as a reviewer and learning technical skills to produce your own video
Free tickets to attend three performances or events at the Barbican Centre
Produce three short YouTube reviews to be published on the Barbican YouTube channel
Attend the three performances assigned to you
Review what you attend and produce and submit a video review to deadline
Attend the fortnightly sessions with your mentors taking place on a Monday
If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend an interview one evening between 4–8 December. Those who successfully interview will start the 12 week programme in January 2018.
