ANOHNI: Wilderness

ANOHNI returns to the Barbican to present her new show Wilderness, performing alongside pianist Gaël Rakotondrabe and drummer Chris Vatalaro. Taking place in the Hall on 23 April 2026, the evening will feature a repertoire of music from across ANOHNI’s catalogue, set against a backdrop of her own original films.

The singer-songwriter returns to the Hall following her critically acclaimed tour Mourning The Great Barrier Reef, having performed at iconic venues and festivals from The Syndey Opera House to Glastonbury Festival, where MOJO praised her as having "one of the most extraordinary performances Worthy Farm has ever witnessed". For 2026, ANOHNI has built a new show which will draw from her influential career, including Mercury Prize-winning album I Am A Bird Now (Secretly Canadian, 2005), The Crying Light (Secretly Canadian, 2009), Hopelessness (Secretly Canadian/Rough Trade Records, 2016) plus her sixth studio album My Back Was A Bridge For You To Cross (Secretly Canadian/Rough Trade Records, 2023) and more.

A true visionary, ANOHNI is one of the most compelling voices in the 21st century. With a career spanning over 30 years, she established a unique musical path focused on animist and eco-feminist themes whilst bridging genres – from electronic experimental to avant-classical, dance and soul – influencing a new generation of experimental artists across the world. Her spellbinding sound has seen her curate sold-out shows everywhere from the Royal Opera House and Radio City Music Hall to two dates at the Barbican with The Johnsons in 2024. With no signs of slowing down, she now returns to the Barbican Hall with a brand-new show next year.

Las Poderosas - Colombian Queens: Adriana Lucía, Nidia Góngora & La Muchacha

Part of La Linea Festival

The Barbican and London Latin music festival La Linea presents Las Poderosas – Colombian Queens, an evening celebrating some of Colombia’s most compelling female voices in contemporary music. Showcasing a rich spectrum of Colombian-infused genres, the event brings together three influential artists: Adriana Lucía, Nidia Góngora and La Muchacha. Together, they offer an inclusive and contemporary perspective on Colombia’s rich musical heritage and form part of the Barbican’s Spring 2026 season. Across visual art and contemporary music, the season shines a light on Colombian artists who draw inspiration from the rich traditions and history of their country, bridging Colombia’s past and its creative present.

Headlining the evening is acclaimed singer-songwriter Adriana Lucía, one of Colombia’s most beloved artists, known for blending traditional rhythms such as porro, vallenato and cumbia with pop and Caribbean influences. Co-headliner Nidia Góngora is the Pacific coast’s iconic voice and guardian of Afro-Colombian heritage. As lead singer of Canalón de Timbiquí, the Latin GRAMMY–nominated singer brings ancestral marimba traditions to global audiences. Opening the showcase is La Muchacha, whose guitar-led folk and protest-rooted songwriting addresses justice, gender, and community, resonating across Latin America.

Earlier in the day, audiences can also take part in a bullerengue dance workshop hosted by Bullerengue Circle, offering an immersive introduction to this Afro-Colombian rhythm through music, movement and communal participation.
