Salary: £38,730 - £43,900 per annum, inclusive of Inner London Weighting (dependent on skills and experience)
The Barbican Centre’s vision is arts without boundaries. We inspire people to discover and love the arts. We invest in the artists of today and tomorrow. Our international artistic programme brings outstanding artists, performers and hundreds of thousands of people a year to our iconic central London concert hall, theatre and gallery.
One year on from the launch of the award-winning barbican.org.uk, the Barbican is continuing to embed inhouse development at the heart of its digital strategy. We have built a permanent cross-functional agile team and are now looking for a full-time Senior Developer to join us as we work on continuous improvement of barbican.org.uk and on new digital solutions.
You will take the lead on technical maintenance and development of barbican.org.uk, which consists of our Drupal stack alongside a bespoke web app for the ticket purchase. On the one hand you will be a generalist who can learn quickly, explore new technical solutions and implement them. On the other hand, Drupal will be your speciality. You will have excellent frontend skills and an eye for design detail. You will use your experience of developing software in a team environment to keep up the momentum of continuous improvement. You will constantly be looking for ways to do things better. You will be an excellent communicator who will put our audiences first and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, agency developers and system suppliers.
In 2019 we will replace our enterprise ticketing and CRM software. You will be a key part of the success of this project and will be deeply involved in the integration of the new solution with the website. You will be a key part in producing a beautiful ticket-buying experience that will make our customers want to come back just so they can have the pleasure of using the website again.
We value a supportive, positive working environment and can offer flexible working and, as an employee of the City of London Corporation, a generous pension and a range of great benefits.
