HR Advisor, Barbican Centre and Guildhall School of Music & Drama

Salary starting at £36,060 per annum inclusive of London Weighting, dependent on skills and experience. 
Full time; FTC until 31 March 2022

We have an exciting opportunity to join the HR department of two highly recognised arts institutions. The Barbican is Europe’s leading multi-arts venue, including visual arts, music, theatre and cinema. The Guildhall School of Music & Drama is internationally renowned as one of the leading conservatoires for training of musicians, actors, stage managers and theatre technicians.

Working across both performing art venues, this role reports directly into an HR Business Partner and is supported by an HR Assistant. You will be working closely with people across the organisation to provide accurate and timely HR advice on policy, procedure and best practice on a broad range of HR matters. This includes recruitment, employee relations, performance management and sickness absence issues. In this interesting and diverse role, you will also work with the wider HR team across all departments providing a unified HR service across both the Barbican and the Guildhall School. 

To be successful, you will need to be a confident and positive person with an excellent ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation. Your knowledge of legislation and best practice will be supported by CIPD qualification. You will be familiar with HR systems, and proactive in suggesting efficient ways of working. 

You will also have experience of working within the arts, media or creative sector, and applicants with a keen interest in the arts are particularly encouraged to apply.
