From Summer 2022, the Barbican will be the looking to bring on board a Commercial Events and Planning Manager. You will have an exciting and creative opportunity to plan and manage commercial activity across the centre with the focus to generate secondary income via our bars and catering areas. You'll also work closely with our performance bars team to maximise this secondary income stream ensuring it works cohesively with its performance related income.
You'll report directly to the Bars Operations Manager, and work closely with the Head of Commercial Development as well as stakeholders from across the Barbican. You will be a confident leader and expert communicator and have previous experience in using digital organisational tools such as Artifax and PARiM.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bars and events professional with a passion for the arts and hospitality and a drive to grow and develop new business. You will ideally have had experience in a similar role understanding the nuances of a large organisation as well as a keen interest in the Arts. To be successful in this role you must have strong business skills including the ability to manage stakeholders, rotas and casual staff in a fast-paced, reactive environment and demonstrate good negotiation skills.
Please note, this role will primarily involve a mix of office-based work as well as managing events on evenings and weekends.
