As Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic musical breezes into the Barbican, join us for a South Pacific themed night to remember...
With an air of Tiki and South Seas, bring your friends and enjoy a 1940s vintage night of makeovers, dancing and great music. Starting at 6pm, sit back with an exotic cocktail from the bar and take part in a musical themed Film Quiz. Get a free 40s makeover from the Lipstick and Curls girls, plus London’s vintage club night Hula Boogie take over the ClubStage from 10.30pm, with jive demonstrations and classes to get your dancing feet going, with music from the era.
So dust off your petticoats, slick your hair back and make a date for LATES.

Barbican Film Quiz
6.15pm, Freestage, Level G
Start watching your musicals, brush up on your Gershwin and be prepared to be tested in our musical themed film quiz and be in the chance of winning cocktails, tickets for the South Pacific Film and other prizes. Registration for the Quiz is from 1.30pm- 6.10pm from the Level G Sales Point.
Vintage Makeovers
9.30–12pm, Mezzanine Level, Makeovers available from 9.30pm
Fancy looking like a 1940s pin up? Lipstick and Curls, specialist in vintage styling will be on hand to transform guys and gals with 40s makeovers. Bring your cameras and don’t forget to upload them onto the Barbican Facebook page.

Jive Dancing & Live Music

Hula Boogie, London’s award winning jive dancing nights will be on hand providing music and dancing from the 40s and 50s. Whether you are a complete beginner or love to jive, pick up the steps in our jive classes and then dance on through the night with DJ Miss Aloha
