Major Barbican events featured in the London 2012 Festival programme
The Barbican Centre is delighted to announce major projects spanning opera, music, theatre and dance, which puts it at the heart of the cultural celebrations in the London 2012 Festival.

As part of this festival, the Barbican will also be a partner of The World Shakespeare Festival, produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company, which celebrates Shakespeare as the world’s playwright, and a Pina Bausch season, commissioned by Sadler’s Wells in association with Cultural Industry and the Barbican.

Other highlights include: a UK premiere of Philip Glass and Robert Wilson’s legendary Einstein on the Beach with choreography by Lucinda Childs; the Desdemona project - a new collaboration among Toni Morrison, Rokia Traoré and Peter Sellars and a new adaptation from Martin Crimp of a Botho Strauss’ Gross Und Klein directed by Luc Bondy featuring Cate Blanchett for Sydney Theatre Company.
