Set around Limehouse Cut and the Lee River in East London, Herons is a sensitive and mournful play about urban disaffection and brutality, vulnerability and violence, and the damaged and fragmented lives of its young protagonists. This powerful play by Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time) premiered at the Royal Court in 2001 to great acclaim.
