A fog of sound fills the hall as electronic composer Tim Hecker performs his new album Love Streams with lighting by Berlin visual artist MFO.

Hecker's compositions are dense and heavily textured; on Love Streams, distorted percussive notes cover trilling keyboards and enveloping drones, but here he takes a more melodic approach, using acoustic woodwind and choral parts prominently.

A producer and sound artist, Hecker's work crosses over into post-rock and contemporary classical. Collaborations on this album include Ben Frost, Kara Lis Coverdale, with whom he performed his sold out show at St John at Hackney Church, and Johann Johannsson who's recordings of Medieval choral works lift the record to new dimensions and present a juxtaposition between these natural sounds and his heavy electronic experimentation.

'He treats sound as a plastic object, something physical to be molded and stretched' - Pitchfork

'Blissful, soothing, profoundly creepy, uplifting and cathartic' - Guardian

Support comes from producer, composer and NTS DJ Beatrice Dillon.

Please note: this performance contains dense smoke effects in the auditorium
