Efterklang have played more than 400 concerts as a 7 piece rock band across the world and are highly acclaimed as one of the most engaging and original bands on the live circuit. In addition to the many ‘rock’ concerts, they have specialized in orchestral projects. Performing Parades was performed at many prestigious concert halls in Europe including the sell-out 2009 performance at the Barbican.
In 2010 Efterklang collaborated with Icelandic composer Daníel Bjarnason and created Efterklang + Daníel Bjarnason & Their Messing Orchestra, a 17-piece band involving Efterklang , a brass quartet, a saxophone quartet, a classical percussionist and Daníel Bjarnason. The orchestra has performed at Cork Opera House, De Doelen in Rotterdam, De Oosterpoort in Groningen and Vredenburg in Utrecht. This orchestra project was based on songs from Magic Chairs, Efterklang’s 3rd album and winner of the IMPALA Award Independent European Album of the year 2010.
For this special concert, the Danish trio will be performing as a six-piece, augmented by Peter Broderick (piano), Katinka Fogh Vindelev (choir) and former Siouxsie and the Banshees drummer Budgie.
