Michael Tilson Thomas conductor Gil Shaham violin London Symphony Orchestra Mozart’s experimental Fifth Violin Concerto intersperses lyrical operatic passages with the loud, tongue-in-cheek bursts of traditional Turkish music which have lent the concerto its ‘Turkish’ nickname.
