Sir Colin Davis Barbican Young Orchestra and Creative Ensemble Members of the LSO Percussion Academy
Elgar Serenade for Strings Sibelius Symphony No.5
Following the huge success of our “Hear the Future” project last summer, Barbican Education, the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the LSO are combining their efforts once more to create another amazing showcase. Pooling players from the Greater London area aged 9 to 16, this unique concert will demonstrate the undeniable talent of our young musicians.
Sir Colin Davis will share his vast experience and passion for great music with these very young players when he conducts the BYO in a performance of Elgar Serenade for Strings and Sibelius Symphony No.5.
In the first half, BYO players join forces with young musicians from Guildhall Connect projects and the LSO Fusion orchestra to create a brand new work and their own Barbican Creative Ensemble which will be led by the inspirational educationalist Paul Griffiths.
To kick off the evening with a “bang”, members of the LSO Percussion Academy will prove their musical excellence.
