Another unmissable evening at the opera with Jiří Bělohlávek and the BBC Symphony Orchestra! Their performance last season of Janáček’s The Excursions of Mr Brouček seized its audience and scored an instant critical hit. Expect the same for Martinu’s Julietta. The Czech composer’s compelling work, subtitled ‘The Book of Dreams’, has not been heard in London for over 30 years. Its surrealist libretto, ever-shifting action and dreamscapes are subtly etched in a score packed with fantasy and psychological insight. Concert staging
