In 2006, the seaside town of Margate was transformed by a series of live events commissioned and produced by Artangel as part of Penny Woolcock's forthcoming film Exodus.

Ten songs, inspired by the biblical plagues, were written and recorded by some of the world's leading artists. A CD of newly commissioned songs has been released on 4AD featuring a variety of songwriters including Rufus Wainwright, Imogen Heap, King Creosote and Scott Walker.

For this event, the Barbican brings together many of the artists who recorded on the album and invites others to write and perform new plagues for an unparalleled evening of music.

Performers include Imogen Heap, Kenny Anderson (King Creosote), Sandy Dillon, June Tabor and The Handsome Family plus special guests. The band features David Coulter, Leo Abrahams, Michael Blair Thomas Bloch, Ralph Carney, Roger Eno , Kate St John, Rory McFarlane, and Jean-Jacques Palix.

Don't miss a special complementary film showing of Exodus - a modern retelling of the book of Exodus. Click here for full details.
