Hackney Schools Music and Dance Festival Launch Concert

26 June 2017 / 18:30

The Hackney Schools Music and Dance Festival launch their 20th anniversary festival with a performance featuring dance, music and song at the Barbican.

The concert will give a flavour of the festival programme by bringing together elements from our secondary music day, dance and instrumental days, junior singing festival and partnerships day. Performances come from bands, vocal groups, choirs, creative ensembles, orchestras and collaborators.

Over the last 20 years, the festival has grown from one singing event, to a whopping 69 schools taking part in a fortnight of singing, instrumental, dance and partnership day events – all taking place in the Round Chapel in Hackney. This year sees the addition of an early years and foundation stage singing festival, which completes the suite of events from nursery through to secondary school.

Free stage shows from 1:30pm. Evening concert 6:30pm.

The Hackney Schools Music and Dance Festival runs 26  June–7 July at the Round Chapel, E5. For further information contact Hackney Music Service on 020 3076 1534 or visit hackneymusic.co.uk
