Hearing the opening bars of Handel’s Messiah is a sure sign that the festive season is underway, and in the hands of Richard Egarr, four stellar soloists and the choir and orchestra of AAM, you can almost smell Christmas around the corner. First performed in Dublin in 1742 and swiftly gaining in popularity, the Messiah is now one of the best-loved choral works in Western music. Join us to hear this iconic work performed on the instruments Handel intended and in its original configuration.
