KT Tunstall

+ Nina Nesbitt

22 May 2017 / 20:00
Hall
Taking her carefully crafted Pop sound in new directions, Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall performs music from her new album KIN, alongside tracks from across her back catalogue.

Drawing on influences from Neil Young to Fleetwood Mac and Joni Mitchell, KIN shows that commercial success and artistic integrity are by no means mutually exclusive. While the album might be as instantly gratifying as any of Tunstall’s previous hits, laden with pop hooks, there’s a depth to both her arrangements and lyrics that stand up to scrutiny. Live, it’s hard not to be swept up in her sound, from the infectious power-pop energy of the album opener ‘Hard Girls’, to the rolling grooves of ‘Two Way’.
