The Melos Sinfonia celebrates Henri Dutilleux's centenary with a performance of his work for violin Sur le même accord. They are joined by two immensely talented young musicians, Bartholomew LaFollette and Martyn Jackson, before moving onto the Rimsky-Korsakov favourite.
The Melos Sinfonia is an energetic orchestra based in London which, through ambitious programming and enterprising projects, provides talented young musicians with the invaluable performing experience and exposure necessary to establish a successful career in the arts. Players are drawn from current students and recent graduates of the major conservatoires and universities across the UK, as well as from orchestras such as the European Union Youth Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Britten-Pears Orchestra and the Southbank Sinfonia.

Change of programme and artists
Due to unforeseen changes to the schedule of the Melos Sinfonia and their conductor Oliver Zeffman, Dutilleux’s Tout un monde lointain will be replaced by Dutilleux’s Sur le même accord plus Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C. The second half of the programme – Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade – remains unchanged.
Oliver Zeffman and the Melos Sinfonia would like to emphasise that this is their request and thank cello soloist Bartholomew LaFollette for his understanding and flexibility in changing the concerto. They are also delighted that they are still able to mark Henri Dutilleux’s centenary performing Sur le même accord.
