Renée Fleming personally introduces this special screening of American Voices, the documentary made around the festival she created and hosted at the John F Kennedy Centre in Washington.
'I've always been fascinated by all kinds of singing...why does somebody's voice give us goosebumps, or make us cry immediately?’ says Renée at the beginning of American Voices. That’s certainly what the festival celebrated, from Classical to Broadway, Pop and Rock to Gospel, Jazz, and Country, it brought together some of America’s greatest singers for a host of performances, masterclasses, and open discussions about the future of the craft.
