Immerse yourself in the world of experimental composer and pianist Nils Frahm, as he curates a weekend of new music from himself and his peers.

Whether alone with a piano or surrounded by samplers, Nils Frahm is a musician that manages to make familiar instruments sound new and exciting again, playing piano strings with toilet brushes, twisting pretty chords into pulsing techno.

And that creativity doesnít stop with his own work. Far from fitting the traditional image of the lone composer or producer sitting at home, plugging away in solitude, he is instead a champion a buzzing scene of contemporary classical musicians, with recent projects including a BBC 6 Music prom performance with ambient duo A Winged Victory for the Sullen, and all night trance sessions with composer ”lafur Arnalds.

Place yourself at the heart of that scene for a whole weekend this July, as Nils Frahm and friends take over spaces across the Barbican, premiering new projects and pieces.
