We are delighted to welcome John Adams and director Mark Kidel to introduce this screening of Road Movie, A Portrait of John Adams.

Complementing tonight’s performance of John Adams’s The Gospel According to the Other Mary in the Hall, we present the UK premiere of Mark Kidel’s visually rich portrait of the composer, exploring the influences that have shaped Adams’s unique music, including minimalism, jazz, Indian raga and the European classical tradition.
