An evening dedicated to composers whose music ignores the divide between classical and non-classical.

Britten Sinfonia, conducted by André De Ridder, performs music by Daníel Bjarnason, Bryce Dessner (The National) and Nico Muhly himself. In addition, there will be a sequence of pieces from the Heart And Breath series by Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire and Bell Orchestre) performed by Richard himself together with various guests including violist Nadia Sirota and Nico Muhly.

Brace yourself for two new brand orchestral collaborations: a full set from Glen Hansard performing Nico Muhly's arrangements of his songs (including the Oscar-winning Once), plus orchestral renditions of Villagers songs with frontman Conor J O'Brien and the Britten Sinfonia. The recent Villagers album {awayland} entered the UK Top 20 in January on the back of rapturous reviews, while Glen Hansard's recent, sold-out performance at the Barbican was an epic which will live long in the memory of those who were lucky enough to see it.
